FX prime brokerage

FX prime brokerage first came to prominence in the late 1990s, but it is only in the last five or so years that it has gained major traction in terms of trading volume. The basic concept of prime brokerage is that clients, such as hedge funds, trade with executing brokers (banks) which then give up their trades to the client's FX prime broker.
